Public Forum Duet: David Byrne/?uestlove

Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 8pm

NYU Skirball Center

David Byrne (author, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, cofounder of Talking Heads) and Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson (drummer, DJ, culinary entrepreneur, member of The Roots) come together for a one-on-one conversation. They will discuss what we're taught--and how we learn--about music, and the way that our ideas shape the songs we create and consume. ?uestlove is teaching a course on classic albums at NYU this spring. This exciting Public Forum event is co-presented by NYU Skirball Center.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Public Forum Duet conversation with David Byrne and Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson will take place at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 La Guardia Place (at Washington Square South).

*****
This month, the Public Forum continues its celebrated series of Duets: one-on-one conversations that pair an artist who has been vital to the history of the Public Theater with a leading voice from the world of politics, media, or the arts. Last fall, to mark the presidential election, the Forum Duets focused on politics, with Alec Baldwin, Rachel Maddow, Tony Kushner, and more. This spring, we turn to music, and the way that it shapes our lives.
