A discussion with Richard Nelson (writer/director of Sweet and Sad), Paul Goldberger (Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of Up from Zero: Politics, Architecture, and the Rebuilding of New York) and Matt Dunning (former Associate Editor of the Tribeca Trib who covered the planning and construction of the World Trade Center site from 2008-2011) moderated by Jeremy McCarter (Director of Public Forum) about the role architecture, or the lack thereof, plays in grieving and remembering.

Can we still talk across the
political divide?
Co-sponsored

A discussion about how difficult it has become to discuss politics and how we bridge the divide with Richard Nelson (writer/director of Sweet and Sad), Clyde Haberman (NYC columnist for The New York Times) and Susan Lerner (Executive Director of Common Cause/NY, a nonpartisan citizens lobby that gives the public a voice in the political process).

3 WEEKS ONLY!
Rhinebeck, New York. September 11, 2011.
The
Apple Family finds themselves together again for the first time since
Election Night, 2010. Marian, reeling from a personal tragedy, now
lives with her sister Barbara; sister Jane is back with her boyfriend
Tim, their brother Richard has come up from Manhattan, and Uncle
Benjamin prepares for his first dramatic performance in years. Over
Sunday brunch on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, the Apples find
themselves talking about loss, memory, remembrance and the meaning of
compensation.
With Sweet and Sad, Tony Award-winner Richard Nelson (Conversations in Tusculum, James Joyce's The Dead)
continues his series of plays exploring the immediate present and the
ever-changing state of the nation through the story of the liberal
Apples. The critically acclaimed ensemble cast first introduced to
