This world premier play by the author of Stop Kiss raises questions about parenting, racial identity, and community.
New parents Nina and Miles, an interracial couple, move into a transforming neighborhood in Brooklyn and are welcomed by a brick through the front window. The hole it creates seems to open their house to a host of unexpected people including Miles' brother Eric, a local man named Reggie, and Mrs. Chae their Korean nanny. While Nina tries to balance the baby with the demands of her work as an architect, Miles is struggling just to find a job. Mrs. Chae seems like the antidote to the rising stress, but Nina's reluctance to leave the baby in another's care and Mrs. Chae's attempts to mother Nina only make matters worse. With the deadline for an international architectural competition looming Nina is also feeling pressure from her friend and partner Kit. When Eric talks Miles into a risky business proposition Nina loses her tenuous grip on her temper prompting a confrontation that reveals the unspoken fears of the young family.
