Esquire Downtown at Astor Place

The Public Theater’s Late Nite Committee in collaboration with Esquire Downtown at Astor Place will host a special benefit evening to support the creation of new work at The Public Theater. Performances will feature Ethan Hawke in Talk Radio by Eric Bogosian, directed by Jo Bonney; Cynthia Nixon in Bright Room Called Day by Tony Kushner, directed by Jo Bonney; Rosie Perez in Marriage of Bette and Boo by Christopher Durang, directed by Peter DuBois; Billy Porter singing; Elizabeth Rodriguez in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, directed by Stephen Adly Guirgus; and others in scenes. . .from The Wild Party by Michael John LaChiusa, Venus by Susan-Lori Parks, and The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley. Esquire Downtown at Astor Place, part of Esquire magazine, has assembled 13 top designers who have each styled a section of two penthouse suites in the new 'Sculpture For Living' building at Astor Place. The Public Theater is one of ten New York City charities Esquire has chosen, and the only performing arts organization, to hold a benefit in this one-of-a-kind setting. For this one-night-only event, the Late Nite Committee is creating an evening of “site specific” scenes and musical numbers - performed in the spaces, throughout the party - in which actors and musicians will come together for an intimate tribute to The Public. Tickets $250 (fully tax-deductible) For reservations call 212.539.8633 or email latenite@publictheater.org Invitation Committee Jason Blum, Tina Chai, Laurie Prince and Peter Constantino, Christina Greeven Cuomo, Celerie Kemble and Boykin Curry, Nancy Dorn, James and Maya Frey, Philip Seymour Hoffman, John Ortiz, Miles Redd, Lela Rose, Jonathan Marc Sherman, Anne and Andrew Shiva, Peter Som, Bronson Van Wyck
