In this autobiographical performance, singer and actor Billy Porter looks back over the forces that shaped him. From growing up in a devoutly Christian household in Pittsburgh, to hearing Jennifer Holliday sing from Dreamgirls on the Tony Awards, to coming to terms with his identity as a gay man, this musical odyssey takes the audience along on Porter’s powerful journey.
Ghetto Superstar received Drama League Award nominations for Distinguished Production of a Musical and Distinguished Performance.
