Joe Papp founded the Public Theater over fifty years ago on the principle that great art belongs to everyone.

Since 1998, we at Joe’s Pub have been proud to carry on Joe’s mission: rocking out and knocking down the walls between genres, artists, and audiences. Our decade-long commitment to taking bold chances has earned us a reputation as the best venue to discover what’s next: from the greatest international musicians to break-out, up-and-coming artists in the world of music, dance, cabaret, comedy, and theater. Over the past ten years our intimate stage has been graced by some of the greatest performers of out time, and more importantly, our commitment to low ticket prices has helped ensure that these remarkable performances remain as Joe wanted them: available to everyone.

What you may not know is that our mission to bring the best art to the broadest possible audience means that ticket sales cover only a small fraction of our expenses. It is the passionate commitment of our supporters that has allowed us to showcase over a thousand artists each year, and as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary Season, we hope you’ll join us in building on Joe’s mission by joining our new Pub Partners Program.
