Are you a teenager from the Bronx or Harlem who is interested in the arts, theater or poetry? Do you enjoy acting onstage and meeting new people? Are you looking for something fun and rewarding to do during your summer vacation?

FREE SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP at Hunt’s Point in the South Bronx!
If you, or someone you know, is a teenager (ages 13-19) who lives in the Bronx or Harlem, then the Public Theater’s Shakespeare Lab, Jr. at the Bronx is right for you.
Located near both the Bronx and Harlem, Shakespeare Lab Jr. is an intensive summer workshop program for highly motivated young people entering grades 9 - 12. Participants spend 7 action-packed days working with Public Theater’s energetic staff of professional teaching artists at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts. Students will engage in a unique and exciting exploration of history’s most famous playwright--William Shakespeare.
Over the course of one full week, participants will gather in Hunts Point to:
• EXPLORE Shakespeare’s most powerful plays, plots, themes and characters;
• PLAY theater games and interact with their peers in a safe environment;
• LEARN acting, movement and voice skills;
• WRITE and perform their very own sonnets!
Participants who complete the program will have the chance to:
• PERFORM for family and friends!
• ATTEND a FREE special public performance by professional actors from the Public Theater of selections from Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets at LEHMAN COLLEGE.
Shakespeare Lab, Jr. is FREE, and is open to students in the Bronx and Harlem.

A FREE special public performance by actors from THE PUBLIC THEATER of selections from Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets at LEHMAN COLLEGE. Participants, families and friends of all ages are welcome to attend!
