The GOING PUBLIC Campaign will raise $40 million by December 2012 to upgrade facilities to better serve you, our audiences. This renovation builds upon The Public’s tradition of greater access and aims to create a new model of theater: a welcoming, vibrant, cultural home that is as accessible as our eclectic programming.

Gifts of $1,000 or more will be recognized on our lobby stairwell wall; gifts of $10,000+ will be permanently recognized on a brick on our lobby mezzanine donor wall.
Capital gifts are in addition to annual support, and all pledges are payable by December 31, 2012.

The Public's goal is to create an inviting venue that is not only a theater, but a seventh stage for audiences and artists to meet, exchange ideas, and address the world in which we live. A place where the meeting of the minds can take place and an emerging writer can have a coffee with a Pulitzer-prize winning playwright and discuss dramatic form; where a young actor can learn from a seasoned professional about performing Shakespearean text; where an audience member can ask a playwright about a new play; and where a teenager can learn about a life in the theater.
