CREATING A PUBLIC THEATER FOR THE FUTURE
The Public’s renovation is more than an investment in bricks and mortar, but also an investment in our neighborhood, community, the City of New York and the future of American Theater. This renovation will improve our audience experience within our building by upgrading and renovating the public spaces of The Public Theater. This will enable us to better serve you and strengthen our commitment to our mission to provide even greater access to the arts.

Scope of Work
- Complete façade restoration.
- Creation of new exterior terraced steps and canopy.
- Augmented restroom facilities.
- 2 new ADA-accessible entrance ramps.
- Improved street visibility including exterior signage and façade lighting.
- Expanded and refurbished lobby.
- Creation of new mezzanine level and lobby balcony.
- Centrally located box office.
- New restaurant lounge on the mezzanine level.
- Expanded kitchen facilities for Joe’s Pub including a new menu by an award-winning chef.
- New entrance for Joe's Pub inside The Public's Lobby.
- Complete HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system overhaul.
- Installation of a sprinkler system throughout the building.
- Replacement of outdated mechanical and electrical systems for greater efficiency.
