Submission Procedure:
We do not accept unsolicited scripts. If you would like us to read your script, please send us a synopsis and 10 pages of dialogue along with a brief statement of 50-100 words explaining how your piece fits with the Public’s mission. Please click here to read about the Public’s mission and history. Submissions can be sent by e-mail or by regular mail, as the writer prefers (see contact information below).

Type of Material:
We produce full-length plays, musicals, solo pieces, and adaptations.

Musicals:
If you are submitting a musical and would like to send sample songs, please do. We would prefer you email us mp3s if possible, but we are also happy to accept a demo CD by mail. If you would like your CD returned, please submit a self-addressed, stamped envelope; you do not need to include a stamped envelope in order to receive our response.

Response time and method of response:
After considering your submission, we will let you know if we would like the full script. If we request the full script, we will read it and get back to you so there is no need to check in. If submitting the script by mail, you do not need to include a stamped envelope in order to receive our response.
Synopses: 1-3 months. Response will be by email.
Scripts: 6-9 months. Response will be by email.

Best Submission time:
Year-Round

Please note: We receive a very high volume of submissions and we give full consideration to every submission. Please be patient with us if it takes longer than the stated time-frame to get back to you. We will respond to every submission, and we apologize if it takes longer than expected.
