A celebration of musical theater at The Public
-
Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham of The Public Theater are delighted to present PUBLIC SINGS! a new benefit event in celebration of musical theater at The Public. The event will take place on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street). Cocktails and dinner will begin at 6:30pm and the performance will begin at 8:00pm. The show will be followed by a dessert celebration at 9:30pm with the artists.
From TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA to BRING IN ‘DA NOISE, BRING IN ‘DA FUNK; from A CHORUS LINE to PASSING STRANGE, The Public has created musicals that stretch the boundaries of the form and reflect the times we live in. PUBLIC SINGS! is our celebration of that history and a preview of the future of our musical theater.
The production will be directed by Daisy Prince and feature an incredible lineup of some of The Public’s dearest friends including Laura Benanti, David Byrne, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. Martin, Kelli O'Hara, Steven Pasquale and more wonderful performers to come!
