A Bennington College alumni group of six writers, six directors, and 24 actors will create, produce, and perform six short plays in just 24 hours, for a one night-only benefit in tribute to distinguished theater director NICKY MARTIN.
Confirmed talent includes actors PETER DINKLAGE, TIM DALY, BROOKS ASHMANSKAS, and JOEL MARSH GARLAND, and writers JONATHAN MARC SHERMAN and FIA ALVAREZ.
Proceeds from the benefit will help to establish the Nicky Martin Memorial Scholarship for Performing Arts at Bennington College.
NICKY MARTIN, who died in the spring of 2014, was a Tony-nominated and Obie Award winning theater director and beloved former faculty member at Bennington College. Martin was an actor for most of his life, and only turned to directing when he was in his early 40s. He was at Bennington from late 1970s to the mid-1980s and inspired a younger generation of directors and actors whom he continued to work with throughout his career at the Huntington Theater Company and the Williamstown Theater Festival. He worked at The Public most recently as the director of Why Torture is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them.
