Celebrating the anniversary of a New York Musical Moment that resonated in stark relief to the Age of Aquarius, Sketch artist Michael Arthur and musicians Ray Rizzo and Annie Nero curate a Thanksgiving weekend performance of The Velvet Underground's 1970 album Loaded, with Josh Kaufman, Stephanie Sanders, Brian Geltner, Michael Shannon, and other special guests. With live drawings by Michael Arthur, projected on the big screen as they appear on the page, it'll be music you can see and art you can hear.
The fourth album by The Velvet Underground was esteemed by the band and record label to be "loaded" with hits, and includes Velvet Underground songs "Sweet Jane", "Who Loves The Sun", "Rock and Roll" and "Oh Sweet Nuthin". In his December 1970 review of LOADED for Rolling Stone, Lenny Kayewrites, "Each cut on the album, regardless of its other merits, first and foremost a celebration of the spirit of rock 'n' roll, all pounded home as straight and true as an arrow."
