Raise a glass to composer/lyricist Matthew Lee Robinson with some of Broadway’s biggest talents as they give voice to his infectious melodies on the eve of his one year anniversary of immigrating from Australia to the city of show tunes.
The “irritatingly gifted” Robinson has created the mythic Atlantis (Virginia Repertory Theatre), made The Magic School Bus (TheaterWorksUSA) take flight, and delivered the Emmy-nominated “Dance Academy” (ABC) songs to kick ball change to. On the way, he picked up the Churchill Fellowship and UTAS Stephen Schwartz Songwriting Award, performed at the Sydney Opera House, and figured out the answer to the age old question: “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?”
Find out the answer to that and more with a night of libations on and off the Joe’s Pub stage! But don’t miss out. As the adage says, it’s one night only...
“In a few years we could be talking about Lerner, Gershwin, Porter, and Robinson.” -Roslyn Guy, The Age

“Robinson creates lyrics of wit and tenderness, and marries them to music of sophisticated craftsmanship, attractive melodies and clever modulations.” -John Shand, The Sydney Morning Herald
