Every day: 2:00pm - 6:00pm (or 30 minutes past last performance of the day)
On occasion, our box office will open one hour prior to the first performance of the day.

Plays, titles, actors, directors, programs, venues, and performance dates and times are subject to change.

Convenience fees:
$5 per ticket
$3 per ticket for Joe’s Pub
Convenience fees are waived for Members and Partners of the Public Theater or when you buy in person at the Taub Box Office.

Facility fees:
Facility fees help The Public Theater maintain our historic home at 425 Lafayette as well as The Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

There is a $5 per ticket exchange fee. Fee waived for Public Theater Members and Partners.
Tickets may only be exchanged for another performance of the same production.
Exchanges are subject to availability.
Exchanges cannot be made on lost tickets.

Call or visit us at least 48 hours before the original performance date.

Continuing our partnership with TodayTix to make theater more accessible for everyone, $20 mobile lottery tickets will be made available for main stage productions in The Public’s downtown season at Astor Place.

The daily mobile lottery will be offered beginning with the second preview performance of each production’s run.

Mobile Lottery Information 

1. The mobile lottery will begin at midnight each performance day and remain open until 10:00am for matinees and 12:00pm for evening performances.

2. Winners will be notified between 10:00am-12:00pm for matinees and 12:00pm-4:00pm for evening performances by push notification and email. Keep an eye on your phone, and make sure notifications are enabled for TodayTix.

3. Winners have ONE HOUR to claim and pay for their tickets in-app. If unclaimed, tickets will be offered to other entrants.

4. Tickets may be picked up at the Taub Box Office beginning one hour prior to show time.

Entry via Mail
Entrants may also enter via mail by mailing an envelope with name, email, phone number, zip code, number of tickets (up to two per winner) and desired performance to TodayTix 64 Wooster Street, 2nd Floor New York, NY 10012. Mailed entries must be received 24 hours prior to desired performance. You will be notified via phone if you've won 2-4 hours prior to showtime on the day of the performance.

Subject to availability and production
Student tickets are $30. Cash and credit cards are accepted for student ticket purchases.
Student tickets may be purchased in person at The Taub Box Office.

Must have a valid student ID at the time of purchase.

Limit two ticket per person.

Student tickets may not be available for all productions including Joe's Pub and special events. 

On the day of a sold out performance, we may take a limited full-price cancellation list for tickets when the box office opens (2pm or 1 hour prior to the first show of the day if there is a matinee)

Names may only be added to the full-price cancellation list in person at The Taub Box Office window.

The full-price cancellation list will be called no earlier than 30 minutes before curtain.

If you are called and are not present, your name will be removed from the list.

Please note that we DO NOT have the ability to put aside group tickets for Free Shakespeare in the Park.

Patrons picking up tickets at the Taub Box Office will be asked to present identification. Please have your ID or credit card ready.

Late seating is solely at the discretion of management.
Ticketed seat locations are not guaranteed past curtain time.

Children under five are not admitted unless explicitly noted.

The Public Theater does not recommend purchasing tickets through third parties.

We are not responsible for tickets not purchased through The Public Theater. 

We only are able to supply tickets or reprints to the original buyer of the ticket with the order confirmation number, or the credit card that was used for the purchase.
