treya lam: otherland - our queer earth

treya lam: otherland - our queer earth

June 12, 2024

In a time of mass extinction and colonial violence; five queer artists from lineages of Philippines, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and China, will bury something inherited from empire they are ready to leave behind. Threading together a tapestry of song, film, movement, theater, poetry and mythology, they will take us on a journey of reclaiming intimacy with the land, personal and collective healing, and the building of queer liberatory futures. Join us as we plant the seeds of a new world that will grow from the wreckage of the old. This 70 minute collaborative show is a part of treya lam’s “otherland” - a ritual that utilizes a chamber-folk song cycle, spoken word, movement and film to: process the loss of a parent or loved one; explore radical self-acceptance; and ultimately find collective healing.co-created by:Denice FrohmanJess X SnowMarie Lloyd Paspetreya lamHuda Asfour
